This Fall promises to be like no other at Knit-A-Yarn.

Wren Ross - knitter, actor and fiber chanteuse - will officially come on board with her blog (tentative named) Live Stitches. Wren is wonderfully creative and we’re all looking forward to her ideas and energy.

To help everyone get psyched for the New York State Family Sheep and Wool Festival we’ve launched our Rhinebeck 2007 Retrospective complete with a lively event overview, and interviews with Alison Hansel, Stitchy McYarnpants, Kristin Nicholas, Clara Parkes, Mary Beth Temple, and Mason-Dixon Knitting’s Ann Shayne and Kay Gardiner.

Beyond Rhinebeck, we’ll also be posting a short discussion about Mobius knitting with Cat Bordhi, and a wonderful, funny and insightful interview with Pat Ashforth and Steve Plummer of Woolly Thoughts fame.

Shifting the focus to the southwest, we’ll be posting two videos we shot in New Mexico.

One is a very interesting and informational podcast about Churro sheep and the wool they produce with Pat Clauser of Clauser Farm.

The other is with independent mill owner Ruth Baldwin showcasing her milling process at The Natural Twist.

Knit-A-Yarn will also be opening an online marketplace featuring goods hand-chosen by our in-house knitting experts. If there’s something you’d like to see included, let us know!

There’s more in the works, so stay tuned!
