1. Warm Woolies is a charity that knits warm clothing for poverty-stricken children who would otherwise suffer from the cold. Their mission is to provide the very neediest children, both nationally and internationally, with wool sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and slippers.

2. Afghans for Afghans is a humanitarian and educational people-to-people project that sends hand-knit and crocheted blankets, sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and socks to the beleaguered people of Afghanistan.

3. The Red Scarf Project ’08 is a great charitable knitting initiative that provides warmth and encouragement to foster youth by providing them with what is often their first handmade scarf.  Your handmade creation will be sent in a Valentine’s Day Care Package to an Orphan Foundation of America student enrolled in college or trade school.
