About Happenings
Happenings provides opportunities for you to find things to do and for you to share what’s out there to be done.
Here’s what you’ll find and the type of info we’d like to get from you:
Events - an Event is a one-time special appearance or offering by someone who is known for her/his contributions to the knitting community.
Workshops - A Workshop offers a unique learning experience and is publicized among a wide range of knitters. Classes that are sponsored by a yarn store will not be included in the Workshop listing, although a listing (with links) of yarn shops offering classes may be added down the line.
Contests - There are many contests in the cyber world that offer you a chance to have some fun, make a comment and possibly win some yarn or a nice accessory. Contests that are embedded in a knit-a-long or that are set up to self-promote a vendor will not be included in this listing. Contests can be hard to ferret out, so if you find one, please let me know!
Knit-A-Longs (KALs) - KALs give knitters who want to knit the same item a chance to communicate, share experiences and give encouragement. They usually have a limited sign-up period or a cut-off after a certain number of sign-ups. So getting information to you on a timely basis will depend on you getting information to me of any KALs that you know are starting up.
Charities - Knitting For A Cause- Just that - a listing of charities that need knitted items, either on an on-going basis or by a particular deadline.
